Predictive Factors of Turnover Intention among Dental Hygienists

Abstract

This study aims to help make dental hygienists¡¯ personal maturity more stable and improve a high-quality dental medical productivity which fit health care policies, by identifying a predicator of turnover intentions and minimizing the turnover intentions. It surveyed 190 Dental Hygienists in J-Province from March 1 to April 30, 2020. As a result, the higher a job stress is and the lower a job esteem attitude and a social support are, the more likely the predicator of dental hygienists¡¯ turnover intentions influences on the dental hygienists¡¯ turnover intentions, and an explanation ability of the turnover intentions by these variables results in 51.0%. Through this study, as a strategy to reduce the dental hygienists¡¯ turnover intentions, it is thought that the dental hygienists need to make diverse efforts such as reducing the job stress by a satisfaction, a self-esteem, and a professionalism about their tasks and creating an environment to enhance the social support from their bosses and co-workers, and develop specific programs for securing an autonomy as an expert in the health care policies, and improving working environments.
